Description of Ciplukan Toxicity (Physalis angulata L.)

Introduction: Ciplukan (Physalis angulata L.) is a plant used by Indonesian people as traditional medicine. Drug sanitization needs to be carried out guarantee the use and availability of scientifically safe medicines. This study aims provide information enrich knowledge about safety consuming ciplukan roots stems. Methods: 8 male mice test animals, divided randomly into 4 treatment groups, namely treated with dose 0.56 mg/20 g body weight; 5.6 56 560 weight. Treatment was given once then observed for 24 hours observe number deaths animals. Then follow-up observations were in 3 days on individuals who still alive. Results: Within all at weight survived, whereas 5.6; 56; died. The showed that animals good condition, sleeping eating activities, moving lot, having clean nice fur, not showing toxic symptoms such disturbances physical activity, impaired balance, refusal eat. Conclusions: administration extract below less or equal relatively safe.
